‘Don’t interfere in the professional, bonafide duty of armed forces at operation sites

Srinagar: The Kashmir police chief, Vijay Kumar on Wednesday advised media persons not to carry any live coverage of military operations and law and order situation, asking them not to interfere in the professional and bonafide duty of armed forces at operation sites.

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) advised media persons not to come closer to the operation site and law and order situation and not to carry any live coverage of any operation and law and order situation.

“The freedom of speech and expression is subject to reasonable restrictions that should not violate other people’s right to life guaranteed under Article 21 or putting the national security in jeopardy,” he said.

“Do not interfere in the professional and bonafide duty of armed forces at the operation site. No operational content should be carried which is likely to incite violence or contains anything against maintenance of law and order or which promotes anti-national sentiment,” IGP added.
