India must stop “state sponsorship of terrorism” in Pakistan before dialogue between the two nuclear-armed neighbours can resume, Pakistan’s National Security Adviser (NSA) Dr Moeed Yusuf on Saturday said.

In an interview with a Delhi-based news organization The Wire, Dr Moeed said India must reverse its “unilateral and illegal decision” of August 5 in Jammu and Kashmir for talks to resume.
“The government and the people of Pakistan will remain committed to the Kashmir cause till Kashmiris are granted their right to self-determination under UNSC resolutions,” Dr Moeed said explaining Pakistan’s position on Kashmir.
Elaborating on the offer from India to hold talks, the national security adviser said Islamabad had clearly communicated to India that it must halt demographic change in JK and ensure the protection of Kashmiri identity and give Kashmiris their rights before any dialogue or talks can take place.
Dr Moeed said that Pakistan has provided a detailed dossier with evidence of Indian involvement in militancy and said New Delhi’s intelligence agency, RAW, “was involved in the recent bombing in Johar Town in Lahore”. He further detailed the evidence of banking transactions, telephone records, and cyber attacks, which “revealed direct involvement of India in the attacks”.
Moeed further said that Indian intelligence agencies were deliberately targeting the multi-billion dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CEPC) and Chinese interests in Pakistan through militant proxies.
The NSA elaborated that Pakistan had always stood for peace and Prime Minister Imran Khan, during his recent trip to Tashkent, had said Pakistan wanted to have a civilized relationship with India as a neighbour, but the Indian government’s RSS inspired Hindutva ideology was a stumbling block.
Earlier, Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan said that Islamabad would let the people of Kashmir decide if they want to join Pakistan or become an independent state.
Addressing an election rally in Tarar Khal area of Pakistan-administered Kashmir ahead of the polls on July 25, Khan also rejected claims by a leading Opposition leader that his government was working on a plan to make Kashmir a province of Pakistan, news agency PTI reported.
The response came after Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz addressing an election gathering in PaK on July 18 said that a decision had been taken to change the status of Kashmir and make it a province.
“I do not know where all this talk (about province) has sprung from,” Khan said while dismissing any such idea.
Instead, the prime minister said that a day would come when Kashmiris would be allowed to decide their future as per the UN resolutions and expressed the confidence that the people of Kashmir on that day would decide to join Pakistan.
He added that following the UN-mandated referendum, his government will hold another referendum to give the people of Kashmir a choice to either live with Pakistan or become an independent state, the news agency reported.
As per Pakistan’s declared policy on Kashmir, the issue should be resolved as per the UN resolution through a referendum allowing Kashmiris to choose either Pakistan or India, Khan said.
Prime Minister Khan departed from the policy by talking about the third option. There is no third option of independence in the UN resolution.
