Minor killed, 7 injured as explosion takes place at BJP leader’s house in Rajouri

Jammu: A four-year-old nephew of a BJP leader was killed while he along with seven other members of his family including a 7-year-old suffered injuries in an explosion in Rajouri district on Thursday night.

Official sources said that there was an explosion at the house of the BJP leader Jasbir Singh near Khandli Bridge area in the district.

They said the explosion is suspected to have taken place due to grenade lobbying.

Eight members of the family were injured in the blast and were removed to hospital where Veer Singh(4)  son of Balbir Singh succumbed to the injuries.

Earlier, DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range Vivek Gupta and SSP Rajouri Sheema Nabi Qasba were on the spot to monitoring the situation.

There was no official word as yet regarding the nature of the explosion when this report was filed.
