Pulwama: The residents of Teli Mohalla of Rahmoo village in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday staged a protest demonstration against Jal Shakti department for failing to provide the drinking water facility.

Scores of the residents including women and children assembled in Bangam Mohalla and blocked the main road, plugging all entry and exit routes.

The inhabitants said that the drinking water has been snapped from the locality which forced them to stage the protest.

The agitating people also accused the department of turning the blind eye to their genuine pleas.

“Despite requesting the concerned officials time and again nothing was done on the ground,” one of the protesting residents told Free Press Kashmir.

They threatened to intensify their agitation in case the problem was not addressed in the coming days.
