NIA launches multiple raids in Srinagar, south Kashmir

Srinagar: India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday launched multiple raids in Srinagar city and some districts of south and north Kashmir and Jammu.

Official sources said that NIA raided the residence of Mohammad Shafi Wani, son of Abdul Gani Wani, a resident of Lasjan, Srinagar.

They said that NIA officers searched the residence of Shafi and also seized the mobile phones of him and his son Rayees Wani.

Later on, Shafi was detained and taken to Police Station Pantha Chowk for further questioning.

The report also read that in Kulgam, NIA searched the residence of Waseem Ahmad Dar, son of Nazir Ahmad Dar, a resident of Larm Ganjipora neighborhood of the district.

They added searches were also carried out in the Anantnag district. The residence of Bashir Ahmad Padder, son of Ghulam Mohammad Padder of Bamnu Sadiwar of Anantnag district

. Shakir Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Rasool Bhat, a resident of Nowpora Dooru, they added.

In Baramulla, a raid was being conducted in the residence of Ghulam Mohi ud Din Wani son of Late Ghulam Mohammad Wani of Zandfaran Sheer.

Searches were also carried in Doda and Kishtwar in connection with the June 27 case linked to IED recovery in Jammu.
