Shopian: A militant has been killed in a military operation launched by forces against militants in Rakhama area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
A senior police officer said that a militant has been killed while as the operation is on in the area.
The militant has been identified as 23-year-old Mujeeb Lone son of Mohd Amin Lone, a resident of Redwani Bala, Kulgam. He was missing since 9-9-2021.
Earlier, an official said that a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
He said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering an encounter—(KNO)
