Arvind Kejriwal grilled by protesing farmers over his support to GoI’s abrogation of Article 370 in Kashmir

Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal was grilled by the farmers in a meeting in Punjab over his stand on abrogation of Article 370 in Kashmir after he showed support to the farmers struggle and GoI’s “infringment of rights of states”.

A Mansa farm union leader asked Kejriwal if he was against Government of India’s “repeated act of infringement on the rights of the states” why did he support the scrapping of Article 370 in Kashmir and questioned his stand on the issue.

“How is the scrapping of Article 370 related to the issues of farmers?” Kejriwal asked.

“Centre has taken the power of Delhi government and I cannot talk about the rights of other states when I don’t have my powers,” he said.

“We can talk about farmers and the issues related to them, if the questions are political, we can answer them outside,” he added.

He further said that “if I am not in favour of farmers then there is no other political leader of the country in support of the farmers”.

“We are ready to sacrifice for the farmers and in the past seven years, the Delhi government has done a lot of things for the farmers and I don’t think other governments have done anything for you,” he said.

He also said that new farms laws were brought after violating the rights of the states after he was questioned about the support he showed for the abrogation of Artlicle 370.
