‘Baseless’: JK Bank refutes appointing outsiders after politician’s claim

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Bank on Wednesday refuted news reports regarding the appointment of 950 persons from Haryana and Punjab in the Bank, and terms it “false” and “fabricated”.

In an official handout, the Jammu and Kashmir Bank said, “All allegations regarding ‘appointment’ of 950 persons from Haryana and Punjab in the bank are absolutely false, baseless, and complete nonsense”.

It also said the bank has not made any such appointment as alleged in a news report, circulating on social media.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Janata Dal United President for Jammu and Kashmir claimed that amidst rising unemployment, over 950 persons from Haryana and Punjab have been given jobs in Jammu and Kashmir which is totally injustice towards the people of Kashmir and the Dogras of Jammu.

While addressing a press conference in Srinagar, Shaheen said that ever since the abrogation of Article 370, his party has been demanding that land rights and jobs of locals of Jammu and Kashmir should be secured but unfortunately, over 950 people from outside Jammu and Kashmir have been appointed in Jammu and Kashmir Bank.

He said these appointments have been made at a time when the unemployment graph of Jammu and Kashmir is rising and there are over 22 lakh people who are jobless.
