Himachal Pradesh: A team of Jammu and Kashmir Police was allegedly attacked by the locals of Jaladi village in Himachal Pradesh while the team was searching for a Kashmiri woman abducted by a man from Jaladi.

The police party was attacked after the team raided a house to recover the woman who had allegedly been abducted.

Reports said that the parents of the abducted woman, from Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, had registered a report that their daughter has been abducted.

After investigation, it surfaced that the accused was present in Jaladi village of Chamba district bordering Jammu and Kashmir.

Later, a police party from Doda raided the suspected house on Friday morning to recover the woman, but the villagers attacked them with stones.

However, the attack was retaliated by the JK police personnel by firing some tear smoke shells towards the mob.

A police official from Doda said that the raid was conducted after proper permission was sought and intimation was given to police in Chamba district of Himachal.

“The villagers tried to defend and support the accused,” he said, adding “JK Police is in touch with Himachal police and further course of action will be taken shortly”. (KNT)
