Surge in COVID cases: Restrictions on non-essential movement during night hours in JK

Srinagar: The administration of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday ordered complete restriction on non-essential movement in the Union Territory from 09 pm to 06 am.

The decision was taken during a meeting held under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary, JK (Chairman State Executive Committee) along with the ACS (Health and Medical Education) and other senior Health functionaries today regarding the increase in number of COVID cases in the entire JK.

They said that it has been ordered that there shall be a complete restriction on non-essential movement in the entire UT of JK from 9 pm to 6 am till further orders.

Earlier on Wednesday, first time after over six months, Jammu and Kashmir reported 418 positive cases of COVID, thus taking the number of total active cases in the Union Territory to 1,819 while no death was reported in last 24 hours.
