Admin orders weekend lockdown in JK, night curfew to remain in force

Srinagar: Amid a rise in COVID cases, the Jammu and Kashmir administration on Saturday announced that there will be complete restrictions on non-essential movements during weekends in the entire Union Territory.

In an order, the state executive committee announced that there will be complete restrictions on non-essential movements during weekends in the entire JK.

“Night curfew shall continue to remain in force in all districts from 9 pm to 6 am with complete restriction on non-essential movement,” reads the order.

Earlier, Jammu and Kashmir reported 2,456 COVID cases and five persons succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours, officials said on Friday.

They said that 934 of the cases were reported from Jammu and 1,522 from Kashmir Valley, taking the overall tally to 3,52,623.
