COVID: JK reports spike of 4,651 cases, 3 deaths in last 24 hours

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday reported a spike of  4,651 COVID cases while three persons succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours, officials said.

They said 1,546 of the fresh cases were confirmed from Jammu and 3,105 from Kashmir valley, taking the overall tally to 3,66,851.

After ten days of continuous daily rise, JK had seen a dip in daily cases on Monday with 2,827 while 3,499 infections were reported on Sunday.

899 COVID patients have recovered during the same time—549 from Jammu and 350 from Kashmir. So far, 3,40,599 people have recovered, leaving the active case tally at 21,677 —8,180 in Jammu and 13,497 in Kashmir.

They said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far, 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in JK, the officials said.
