15% non-gazetted posts in JK police reserved for women: Admin

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has approved 15 percent reservation for women in non-gazetted posts of JK Police.

In a tweet, the office of LG announced that 15 percent of non-gazetted posts in UT’s police have been reserved for women.

“On #NationalGirlChildDay, approved 15% reservation for women in non-gazetted posts of @JmuKmrPolice. This is just the beginning. We are determined and committed to increase it further in the future,” tweeted the LG’s office.

The JK administration also said that it is committed to ensuring women’s social and economic empowerment.

“For women and girls to be agents of change, JK administration is committed to ensure Nari Shaktis’ social and economic empowerment while redressing long-standing inequalities to build a more just and resilient society,” the LG’s office tweeted.
