OPD services to resume at Srinagar’s B&J hospital today, says MS

Srinagar: Authorities at Bone and Joint Hospital Barzulla Srinagar have decided to resume Out Patient Department (OPD) from today.

Medical Superintendent of Bone and Joint hospital, Dr Mian Suhail told Kashmir News Observer that the administration has decided to resume OPD services from today.

He said that as of now they can’t admit patients here but can provide them consultations and diagnostics. “Being an important hospital, its function can’t be taken over by another hospital.”

About the functioning of the emergency operation theatre, he said that it will be made functional in due course of time.

“In due course of time, we will start that also but not immediately,” he said.

Starting of OPD services in just two to three days after the fire incident at Bone and Joint hospital has come as good news and relief to hundreds of patients.

Pertinently, the top floor of one of the buildings of B&J hospital has completely got damaged, including an Operation Theatre and Academic Block in a fire incident on Friday evening, however, all patients, attendants, and staff were evacuated safely.
