Maharashtra: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), chief, Raj Thackeray has demanded the shutting down of loudspeakers of mosques in Maharashtra or else his party workers would play the ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ from temples loudly, reports said.

Speaking at a rally at Shivaji Park, he said that “why loudspeakers in mosques are being played loudly? If this will not be stopped, there will be speakers outside mosques playing Hanuman Chalisa at a higher volume”.

He alleged that madrasas in Muslim shanties have Pakistani supporters living there and are being used as vote banks by MLAs, reported News 18.

However, he has urged the ruling government to raid such religious seminaries or madrasas.

While criticizing and accusing Sharad Pawar of playing a caste card timely, he said “Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) have divided people based on caste in the state. If we will not get out of caste politics, then how will we become a Hindu,” he asked.

He also alleged that the three parties in the government (Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress) have ignored people’s mandate” and the MNS leader has lauded the developments in Uttar Pradesh and said we want the same progress in Maharashtra, the report added.
