At least six people including students were killed and 11 others wounded after two blasts targeted a boys’ school in the Afghan capital’s Dasht-e-Barchi neighbourhood, international media reported on Tuesday.

Quoting a Kabul police spokesperson, a report by AFP said that the blasts at the Abdul Rahim Shahid school were caused by improvised explosive devices in which at least six people were killed and 11 were wounded.

“These are preliminary figures and we were waiting for more details”, he was quoted as saying.

He added that a third blast occurred at an English language centre in the same area, but did not verify what was the cause of it.

In a tweet, he wrote that three blasts had rocked the school, which is in an area mainly inhabited by the Hazara community and has been previously targeted by the Daesh terrorist group.

The blasts in the Dasht-e-Barchi neighbourhood had occurred when the students were coming out of their morning classes at the school, the report quoted a witness as saying.
