Pulwama: A military operation against militants has started in Mitrigam area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday, police said.
As per reports, a joint team of police and army launched a cordon and search operation in Mitrigam area following specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them triggering the operation.
A senior police officer also confirmed the exchange of firing between militants and armed forces.
