Military Op against militants starts in south Kashmir, says police

Kulgam: A military operation against militants has started in cheyan village of Devsar in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, police said on Sunday morning.

Police in a Tweet confirmed the operation saying, “Encounter has started at Cheyan Devsar area of Kulgam.”

It added, “police and Army are on the job and further details shall follow.”

The operation, as per officials, began after a joint team of armed forces launched cordon and search operation following inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
