Admin orders probe day after deceased Srinagar man’s family alleges medical negligence

DC Srinagar asks 3-member committee to submit report within a week

Srinagar: The district administration Srinagar on Tuesday ordered probe into the death of a man from Hazratbal area of Srinagar, who died at Khyber hospital on Monday evening following which the family alleged medical negligence.

Srinagar, Muhammad Aijaz Asad, constituted a committee of doctors to conduct in-depth probe into the death of a man at Khyber hospital.

“Whereas it has come to the notice of the undersigned that an individual, Tariq Ahamd Dar S/O Ghulam Hassan Dar R/O Chatterhama, Hazratbal has died at Khyber hospital, Srinagar on July 18, 2022 allegedly due to medical negligence,” the order reads.

Accordingly, a committee of doctors, is hereby constituted to conduct in-depth inquiry into facts and circumstances of the case by examining the materials on record, and shall investigate the subject matter.

The committee includes Dr Farha Shafi, BMO, SDH Hazratbal, Dr. Majeed Gujo, Medical officer, SDH Hazratbal and Dr. Mudasir Majed, Medical officer, SDH Hazratbal.

The committee has been directed to submit its report along with clear-cut observations and recommendations within a week’s time.
