Cop injured as militants lob grenade at Police Control Room Kashmir, 2nd attack in last one hour: Police

Srinagar: A personnel of Jammu and Kashmir Police was injured after militants hurled a grenade at Police Control Room (PCR) Kashmir on Monday late evening, police said.

Kashmir zone police informed that militants hurled a grenade at Police Control Room (PCR) Kashmir, resulting in minor injuries to a cop. Police said that area has been cordoned off and further details will be shared accordingly.

“Terrorists hurled a grenade at Police Control Room Kashmir, resulting in minor injuries to one police personnel. Area cordoned off. Further details shall follow,” police tweeted.

Earlier, around an hour ago, a civilian was injured after militants hurled a grenade in Gopalpora village of Chadoora in Budgam district, police said.

A police official said that a civilian identified as Karan Kumar Singh was injured after militants hurled a grenade in Gopalpora village.

He said that he has been shifted to a Srinagar hospital for treatment, where his condition is said to be stable.

Meanwhile, Kashmir zone police on its official Twitter handle also confirmed the incident and said that area has been cordoned off

“Terrorists hurled grenade in Gopalpora Chadoora area of Budgam in which one civilian namely Karan Kumar Singh got injured. He has been shifted to Srinagar hospital for treatment where his condition is stated to be stable. Area cordoned off. Further details shall follow,” police tweeted.
