Days after militant attack, police says Op against militants underway in Rajouri forests

Rajouri: A military operation against militants is underway in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, police said.

“Operational contact has been established by Army, RR and SOG with terrorists at Kandra Hill in district Rajouri. Details will follow,” Police Media Centre Jammu Tweeted on Sunday.

As per reports, the teams of army, SOG and police launched search operation in view of the massive deployment of armed forces on the eve of August 15.

The contact with militants was also established, however, there has not been any update regarding the same from police.

Two to three militants are reportedly trapped in the operation, Daily Excelsior reported citing army sources.

Pertinetly, on August 11, two militants and four armed forces personnel were killed following a military operation in Pargal belt of Darhal in Rajouri district.
