Rajouri: The body of an alleged Pakistan militant guide, who died in a hospital in Rajouri district on Saturday, is likely to be returned to Pakistan today after his post-mortem was conducted on Sunday in sub-district hospital Surankote of Poonch district, officials said.

The officials said that the guide identified as Tabarak Hussain was arrested by the army during an infiltration bid on LoC in Jhanger sector on August 21.

They said that he had sustained bullet injuries and was undergoing treatment at an army hospital in Rajouri district. Tabarak died during treatment at the hospital on Saturday, they said.

“His post-mortem was conducted today at SDH Surankote and the body is likely to be handed over to Pakistan authorities on Monday,” they added.

Notably, Tabarak was earlier also arrested in the year 2016 from the same area and was repatriated to Pakistan after a jail period of 26 months. (KNO)
