Srinagar: A man from Srinagar was arrested on Saturday for ‘harassing, stalking, assaulting and giving online rape threats’ to girls.
The accused has been identified as Syed Shamoon Hamdani, son of Mohd Ayoub Hamdani, a resident of Awar Colony Rawalpora, Srinagar.
He has been arrested under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and case has been registered at Police Station Safder.
“One Syed Shamoon Hamdani S/o Mohd Ayoub Hamdani R/o Anwar colony Rawalpora arrested for harassing, stalking, assault & giving online rape threats to girls. A courageous girl approached with evidence of his wrongdoings. FIR no 58/2023 U/S 354,294,506,509 of IPC in Sadder PS,” Srinagar Police tweeted.
