Mother of Kashmiri-British neurosurgeon Dr Owase Jeelani passes away in London

The mother of Dr Owase Jeelani, renowned Kashmiri-British neurosurgeon and academic, passed away in London on Monday.

Dr Noor ul Owase Jeelani, a Kashmiri-British neurosurgeon and academic, serves as a Consultant Paediatric Neurosurgeon at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children (GOSH) and was the Head of the Department of Neurosurgery from 2012 to 2018.

Holding various qualifications, including an MBA and an MPhil in Medical Law, he is also an Honorary Associate Professor at the Institute of Child Health, University College London.

Dr Jeelani leads the FaceValue research group focusing on Craniofacial Morphometrics, device design, and clinical outcomes. He gained recognition for successfully separating craniopagus twins in multiple instances, and in 2019, he established the charity Gemini Untwined.
