Amid Israel continuous bombardment on Gaza killing more than 30,000 Palestinians since October 7, last year, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani reached Washington on Monday to participate in the sixth round of the Qatari-US Strategic Dialogue.
The prime minister “arrived in Washington, heading the Qatari delegation in the 6th round of the Qatar-US Strategic Dialogue, which will be held tomorrow,” the Qatari Foreign Ministry said in a statement, as reported by Anadolu.
The minister “will open the dialogue with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken,” the statement added.
The statement noted that the dialogue “will include 12 sessions in various fields of cooperation between the two countries.”
The dialogue comes amid mediation efforts by both countries to broker an agreement between Israel and Palestine.
In November 2022, the fifth round of the Qatari-US Strategic Dialogue took place in Doha during which issues related to Iranian nukes, Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, and Palestine were discussed.
