In northwest Pakistan, a person drove a car full of explosives into another vehicle on Tuesday.
This killed five Chinese workers and their Pakistani driver in Shangla district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The workers were going to work at the Dasu Dam, a big project in Pakistan.
The area where this happened is close to Afghanistan, and the Pakistani Taliban have been doing more attacks there lately.
The bodies were taken to a hospital nearby, and the police are searching for other people involved in the attack. This happened just after security forces in Pakistan killed eight militants who attacked Chinese citizens in another area of the country.
Pakistan’s Interior Minister condemned the attack and said apologised to the families of those who died. He promised to punish those responsible and said he hopes this won’t cause problems between Pakistan and China.
Many Chinese people work in this part of Pakistan on projects related to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
This corridor is important for Pakistan because it brings in money and helps with big projects like building roads and power plants. It’s part of China’s plan to connect Asia through the Belt and Road Initiative.
