Shopian: A former Sarpanch was shot dead by militants in Hurpora area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district, police said on Saturday evening.
A top police officer said that this evening militants fired upon former Sarpanch namely Ajaz Ahmad Sheikh from a close range.
He was immediately shifted to nearby hospital for advanced treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries.
