Journalist Qayoom Khan bereaved; grandfather passes away
Pulwama: Haji Muhammad Ahsan Khan, the grandfather of senior journalist of Kashmir Qayoom Khan, passed away on Wednesday (May 29).
Khan, a retired teacher and a resident of Rahmoo, Pulwama, left for heavenly abode after a sudden death. “He was doing well until yesterday,” said a family member.
The TV Journalist Association Pulwama held a condolence meeting to express their grief and support for Qayoom, a CNN News 18 correspodent.
The association extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family, honouring the memory of Khan.
National Conference leader and district president Pulwama, Ghulam Mohiuddin Mir, expressed grief over the death and extended his heartfelt sympathies to the family, describing the deceased as a kind and pious soul.
The District Information Office Pulwama also held a condolence meeting chaired by District Information Officer Mohummad Iqbal, where prayers were offered for the departed soul.
Additionally, the Pulwama Journalist Federation (PJF) expressed condolences, describing the passing as an irreparable loss and praying for eternal peace for Khan.
Senior BJP leader Altaf Thakur and BJP leader Sajjad Ah Raina also expressed their sorrow, extending their solidarity with the bereaved family.
The Rahmoo Public Interest Chairman, Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Dr Basharat Qayoom and SSP Pulwama, PD Nitya also condoled the death.
Apni Party chief Altaf Bukhai also offered his condolences abd prayed for the departed soul.
Khan was deeply mourned by many if his former colleagues and students, with numerous former students visiting his home to pay their respects and express immense appreciation for his work as an educator.
