Gulmarg: The famous Shiv Temple located at world famous ski resort of Gulmarg Kashmir has been completely gutted in a devastating fire incident.
Official sources told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that a fire broke out at about 3:45am in the famous Shiv Temple commonly known as Maharani Temple at Gulmarg.
Despite timely action by fire service station Gulmarg and local police, the temple, built mostly of wood, got completely damaged.
Officials added that the cause of fire is being ascertained. Police have registered a case to ascertain the facts.
Meanwhile, Omar Abdullah, in a post on X said, “Very sorry to hear about the fire in Gulmarg that seriously damaged the famous Shiv Mandir. I hope the administration quickly establishes the cause of the fire & reconstructs this place of great religious (and tourist) significance as soon as possible.”
