Srinagar: In anticipation of increased traffic volumes ahead of Eid-ul-Adha, the Srinagar traffic police have proposed the deployment of additional personnel at major market points across the City.

A senior traffic police officer told Kashmir News Observer that they have proposed to deploy extra traffic personnel in the city, stating that this measure aims to ensure smooth movement of vehicles ahead of the festive period.

“As Eid-ul-Adha approaches, we expect a rise in the number of vehicles in the city. To manage this, we are deploying extra traffic personnel near markets experiencing heavy footfall,” the officer stated.

He urged the public to cooperate by parking their vehicles in designated parking zones. The officer highlighted key areas where the additional traffic personnel will be deployed, including Lal Chowk, the Jamia Masjid area in downtown Srinagar, and other prominent markets.

He added that this proactive step is intended to mitigate traffic congestion and enhance the overall traffic management during the festive occasion.
