Ghaziabad: The notorious Hindu-right wing member Yati Narsinghanand from Uttar Pradesh has once again delivered a hate speech targeting Muslims at Hindi Bhawan in Ghaziabad’s Lohia Nagar on September 29.
He stated, “of you have to burn effigies on every Dussehra, then burn the effigies of Mohammad,” inciting anger amongst Muslim communities and activists.
This inflammatory statement comes amid a backdrop of ongoing legal troubles for Narasinghanand, with multiple First Information Reports (FIRs) filed against him for hate speech aimed at Muslims.
Despite Multiple cases against him for hate speeches, majorly against Muslims, the hate monger continues to deliver incendiary speeches without facing any apparent repercussions from law enforcement.
On X, where the videos of his hate speech is viral, community leaders, activists and social media users have condemned his rhetoric, calling for immediate action from the authorities to curb the spread of hate speech.
Many are demanding accountability for the police’s inaction, which they believe emboldens people like Narasinghanand to perpetuate divisive narratives.
Meanwhile, an FIR was lodged under section 302 (offending religious sentiments) of the BNS following a complaint from police sub-inspector Trivendra Singh against Narsinghanand.
“We have not arrested him yet,” Sachin Kumar, Station House Officer of Sihani Gate police station told Indian Express, noting that authorities are reviewing a viral video of the alleged hate speech.
“Any action will be taken after investigating the video,” he added.
Narsinghanand, who has multiple legal cases against him, was previously detained for hate speech in 2022.
