New Delhi: Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar is set to visit Pakistan this month to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit, according to a spokesperson for the Indian foreign ministry.
This marks the first visit by an Indian foreign minister to Pakistan in almost ten years, amid tense relations between the two nuclear-armed neighbors over the Kashmir issue, Reuters reported.
Indian foreign ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that Jaishankar will lead the Indian delegation to the summit of Eurasian leaders on October 15 and 16, though it remains unclear whether he will hold any bilateral meetings with Pakistani leaders.
