At least 19 more Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes in Gaza in the last 24 hours, raising the total death toll since last October to 42,519, according to the Gaza Health Ministry on Saturday.

The ministry’s statement reported that around 99,637 people have been injured during the ongoing attacks.

“Israeli forces killed 19 people and injured 91 others in three family massacres within the last 24 hours,” the ministry noted, adding that many remain trapped under debris, unreachable by rescuers.

Despite a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire, Israel has pressed forward with its aggressive military campaign on Gaza following Hamas’s October 7, 2023, attack.

The assault has displaced nearly all residents of the territory, which is suffering from a blockade causing critical shortages of food, clean water, and medical supplies.

Mediation attempts led by the US, Egypt, and Qatar for a cease-fire and a prisoner exchange between Israel and Hamas have failed due to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s refusal to pause the war.

Meanwhile, Israel is facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in Gaza.
