Four JeM militant associates arrested in south Kashmir’s Tral, says police

Tral: Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested four Jaish-e-Mohammad militant associates in South Kashmir’s Awantipora.

In a statement, the police said that it along with army personnel have arrested four militant associates of Jaish-e-Mohammad in Tral.

They have been identified as Mudasir Ahmad Naik, son of Farooq Ahmad Naik of Tral Payeen, Umar Nazir Sheikh, son of Nazir Ahmad Sheikh of Kuchmulla and inayat Firdoos Rather, son of Firdoos Ahmad Rather of Tral Payeen, Salman Nazir Lone, son of Nazir Ahmad Lone of Kounserbal Tral.

Incriminating materials of proscribed outfit Jaish-eMohammad was recovered from their possession.

It is pertinent to mention here that, all the arrested associates were involved in providing logistics support and transportation of arms and ammunition to the active militants of proscribed militant outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad in Tral and Awantipora areas of police district Awantipora, he said.

In this regard, a case vide FIR No.134/2024 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Tral and further investigation initiated, reads the statement.
