Poonch: Armed forces launched a cordon and search operation at multiple locations in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Monday, officials told PTI.
The operation was carried out following reports of suspicious movement in different areas of Mendhar, Surankote, and Gursai.
Acting on this information, the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the local police, along with CRPF personnel, cordoned off several locations, including lower Chanan, Sair, Sanai forest, Chiti Bhati, and Fazalabad in Surankote; Darai forest and nearby areas in Mendhar; and Khokhar Mohalla, Kandi, and Galhutta in Gursai.
According to officials, the search operations were underway when the last reports were received.
