New Delhi: As the war between Israel and Iran grows, an old joke video showing F-35 jets and submarines hidden inside Israeli apartment buildings has gone viral again — and this time, Indian media believed it was real.
On June 13–14, several popular accounts on social media shared the video again, joking that Iran had bombed buildings in Tel Aviv used to store fighter jets. The posts quickly went viral, with millions of views.
Noida-based news channel TV9 Bharatvarsh, a leading Indian news channel, showed the video during a prime-time panel discussion. Retired army officers and defence experts were invited as experts to talk about it, thinking it was a real military strategy.
But the video actually started in September 2024 as a meme. It was made to mock Israel’s claim that Hezbollah was hiding weapons in civilian homes. People made funny 3D versions, fake building maps, and parody posts, all as a joke.
