All officers on ground to ensure peaceful Amarnath yatra, says DGP Prabhat

Qazigund: Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat, on Wednesday said that all officers are on the ground to ensure peaceful conduct of the Amarnath yatra.

The DGP reviewed security arrangements for the ongoing Amarnath Yatra along the Srinagar-Jammu highway on July 2.

DGP Prabhat inspected the security setup at Nayvug Tunnel in Qazigund and interacted with police personnel deployed on ground. He also met the pilgrims and took firsthand stock of the arrangements in place to ensure their safety.

Speaking to reporters during his visit, the DGP, per news KNO said all officers are on the ground ensuring peaceful conduct of the Yatra.

The visit came at a time when the first batch of 5,485 pilgrims reached Kashmir amid unprecedented security measures.

The 38-day yatra is being conducted through twin routes—Baltal in Ganderbal and Pahalgam in Anantnag—with a robust multi-tier security grid.
