DRDO guest house manager held in Jaisalmer over suspicion of spying for Pakistan
Jaipur: Police on Tuesday said a Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) guest house manager in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer district has been detained over suspicion of espionage for Pakistan.
The accused, Mahendra Prasad, hailing from Almora in Uttarakhand, was working as the manager of a DRDO guest house in the Chandan area of Jaisalmer, PTI reported.
“He was detained on Monday and will undergo joint interrogation today,” Jaisalmer Superintendent of Police Abhishek Shivhare told the news agency.
Police suspect Prasad of sharing sensitive information related to strategic military operations and activities in the region.
The DRDO regularly conducts missile and weapons tests at the Pokhran firing range in Jaisalmer, with officials and experts involved in the trials often staying at the guest house.
