Srinagar: In view of the prevailing inclement weather across the Valley, the University of Kashmir on Wednesday announced the postponement of all examinations scheduled for August 28, 2025.
A university spokesperson said fresh dates for the conduct of the postponed papers will be notified separately in due course of time.
The decision comes amid continuous heavy rainfall that has triggered flood-like conditions, disrupted transport, and affected normal life in several parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Authorities have suspended the Vaishno Devi Yatra, cancelled multiple board and recruitment exams, and pressed emergency services into action as the situation remains grim, particularly in Jammu division.
On Tuesday, the High Court of J&K and Ladakh had also deferred its Computer-Based Test (CBT) examination for the post of Reader citing similar weather-related challenges. The exam, originally scheduled for August 28, will now be conducted on September 13.
With communication networks and transport services hit due to multiple fibre cuts and landslides, students had raised concerns over reaching examination centres on time, prompting the varsity to take the decision.
Officials said the new schedule for the University examinations will be announced on the official website and students are advised to regularly check for updates.
