Srinagar: A youth drowned after slipping into a power canal on Wednesday in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
Officials said that a boy identified as Owais Ahmad Baniya, son of Zubair Ahmad Baniya, a resident of Uprash, drowned in the power canal at Uprash.
Soon, a team from the SDRF launched a rescue operation and retrieved the body of the boy during their search.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognisance of the incident. (GNS)
