Israel’s war on Gaza nothing short of genocide, says Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani

Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Israeli airstrikes across Gaza have continued despite a ceasefire agreed upon on October 10, with hospitals reporting 13 deaths in the past 24 hours.

Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani condemned Israel’s ongoing offensive, calling it “nothing short of genocide” and accusing Israel of repeatedly violating the truce.

Speaking at the opening session of the Shura Council, Qatar’s legislative body, the emir urged the international community to protect Palestinians and ensure accountability for war crimes.

“It is unfortunate that the world remains incapable of enforcing respect for international law when it comes to the suffering of the Palestinian people,” he said.

He further denounced Israel’s efforts to make Gaza uninhabitable, expand settlements in the West Bank, and Judaise the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound. “The Gaza Strip is an integral part of a unified Palestinian state,” he affirmed.

Meanwhile, US Vice President JD Vance arrived in Israel accompanied by Donald Trump’s Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

According to Gaza health authorities, Israel’s war on Gaza has killed at least 68,229 people and injured 170,369 since October 2023. Around 1,139 Israelis were killed and 200 taken hostage during the Hamas-led attacks on October 7 last year.
