Jammu: A military operation broke out between militants and armed forces in the forest area of Kalaban in Chatroo, Kishtwar district, on Wednesday morning.
According to official sources, a para trooper sustained injuries during the initial exchange of fire and was shifted to the Command Hospital in Udhampur for treatment.
The operation began after armed forces launched an intelligence-based operation in coordination with the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
“In an intelligence-based operation, in concert with @jk_police, in early morning hours today, alert troops of #WhiteKnightCorps have established contact with terrorists in the general area of Chhatru. Fire exchanged with terrorists. Operation is in progress,” the Army’s WhiteKnight Corps posted on X.
As of the latest reports, intermittent firing was continuing in the area.
