Pampore: Abdul Samad Bhat, known locally as Al Morif Khan and a respected resident of Kandizal Pampore, passed away on Monday afternoon at his home after a brief illness. He was 85.
Family members said Bhat had not been keeping well for the past few days and breathed his last surrounded by relatives. He was widely regarded in the community for his calm nature and deep sense of humility.
The fateha khawani will be held on Thursday, November 27, at his ancestral residence. The family has requested visitors not to bring eatables. “We are grateful for everyone’s prayers and support in this difficult time,” the family said.
Bhat is survived by his children and grandchildren, including his grandson Umar Farooq, a photojournalist associated with Free Press Kashmir.
