Posted on

Pulawama: Aaqib Ayub, a 21-year-old all-rounder from Rahmoo, has emerged as one of the most consistent performers in Pulwama’s local cricket circuit, drawing attention for his impactful outings with the Ruma Reshi Cricket Club (RRCC).

Aaqib poses with his teammates, capturing the camaraderie that fuels the club’s strong performances.

Coming from a middle-class family, Aaqib’s early interest in cricket began with tennis-ball matches in his neighbourhood.

His career pushed forward despite a personal setback in 2021, when he lost his father, Mohammad Ayub Dar. He continued training while supporting his mother, brother and sister.

With RRCC, Aaqib has built a reputation for dependable all-round contributions, delivering quick runs, timely wickets and sharp fielding.

Over the past year, he has produced multiple match-winning performances in local tournaments, earning praise from organisers and fellow players.

Aaqib’s rise carries a strong emotional weight at home. His mother, who tracks every match with keen interest, recently thanked RRCC for helping him grow into a more confident player. Aaqib, in turn, credits the club’s management for standing by him through every phase.

In Rahmoo, neighbours and locals speak of his humility and hard work with genuine affection, saying he has earned the goodwill of the entire area.

RRCC said it values Aaqib’s discipline and commitment and acknowledged his rise as one of the club’s key young players.
