Srinagar: The Jayanti of Shri Anandishwar Bhairav Nath Ji was observed on Sunday at the Shri Anandishwar Bhairav Nath Ji Maharaj Asthapan at Maisuma in Srinagar, with devotees offering prayers in accordance with traditional rituals.
The religious observances were organised by the Managing Committee of the Shri Anandishwar Bhairav Nath Asthapan Trust at the shrine located on Bhairav Mandir Marg. Devotees gathered to participate in the puja and seek blessings.
Shri Anandishwar Bhairav is revered as the first Bhairava of Kashmir and one of the 64 Bhairavas, traditionally regarded as the protector of the Valley. The shrine is also associated with Shaivite philosopher Abhinavgupta, who is believed to have attained spiritual enlightenment at the site. The Shivlingam at the Asthapan is attributed to him.
The Trust said prayers were offered for peace and harmony and reiterated its commitment to preserving the shrine’s spiritual and historical legacy.
