55-year-old CRPF personnel deployed at Anantnag railway station dies of cardiac arrest

Anantnag: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel died of a suspected cardiac arrest at Anantnag Railway Station during the intervening night, officials said.

The personnel, identified as Lakhwinder Singh, 55, son of Ajaib Singh, a resident of Punjab, was posted with 90 Battalion, E Company, at Anantnag Railway Station. He reportedly lost consciousness while on duty and was immediately shifted to Government Medical College (GMC), Anantnag, for treatment.

However, doctors at the hospital declared him brought dead. Preliminary reports indicated that the cause of death was a cardiac arrest.

Meanwhile, legal formalities have been initiated in the matter. (KNO)
