Srinagar: Two men were found dead at separate locations in Srinagar on Thursday morning, prompting police to initiate investigations, officials said.
An unidentified man, believed to be around 45 years old, was found lying unconscious on the roadside near LD Hospital. He was shifted by a police team to SMHS Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. Officials said the identity of the deceased and the cause of death are yet to be ascertained.
In another incident reported a few hours later, a man from Pulwama district was found dead inside a houseboat at Amira Kadal along the Jhelum River. The deceased was identified as Younis Nisar, a resident of Pulwama.
Officials said police were informed immediately after the body was discovered, following which a team reached the spot and took cognisance of the matter. The body was sent for medico-legal formalities to determine the cause of death.
Police said investigations have been taken up in both cases. (KNO)
