Srinagar: Police on Monday issued a safety advisory following an unauthorised trekking incident reported in the Danwas forest area of Baramulla on December 21.
In a statement, police said the advisory has been issued to ensure public safety and prevent any security-related misunderstandings. As per the guidelines, local residents must obtain necessary permissions from the concerned authorities and inform the local police or administration before entering the upper forest areas.
The advisory also states that entry and trekking by non-local tourists in upper forest regions are strictly prohibited under all circumstances.
