World must ensure history does not misrepresent victims of Gaza: Mike Pompeo

Former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the world must ensure that history does not misrepresent the victims of the Gaza conflict.

Speaking at an event hosted by The Mir Yami Institute, Pompeo said that while casualties occur in all wars, he believes Israel’s people are the victims and identified Iran and Hamas as the aggressors. He urged individuals to actively shape the historical narrative through dialogue with future generations.

His remarks come amid continued Israeli military action despite a ceasefire agreement announced in October 2025. More than 400 Palestinians have reportedly been killed since the ceasefire declaration.

Meanwhile, the death toll from the Israeli genocide in the Gaza Strip has risen to 71,439, with 171,324 injured, since the start of the offensive on October 7, 2023.

As per reports, a total of 15 bodies arrived at hospitals in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, including two newly killed victims and 13 bodies that were recovered. A number of victims remain trapped under rubble and on roads, as ambulance and civil defence teams are still unable to reach them, Jordan News reported.

The sources told the news organisation that the total number of fatalities since the ceasefire on October 11 has risen to 449, with total injuries reaching 1,246, while 710 bodies have been recovered.

They also noted the death of one citizen and the injury of another due to the collapse of a building, bringing the number of victims from building collapses since the start of winter to 25
