Foreign Ministers of eight Islamic countries, including several Arab nations, have welcomed an invitation from US President Donald J Trump to join the proposed “Board of Peace”, reaffirming their collective support for international efforts aimed at ending the Gaza conflict.

In a joint statement issued on Wednesday, the Foreign Ministers of Qatar, Turkiye, Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates said they welcomed the invitation extended by the US President to their leaders to become part of the Board of Peace.

The statement said the ministers had agreed collectively to join the body, adding that each country would complete the required legal and procedural formalities to formalise its participation. It noted that Egypt, Pakistan and the UAE have already announced their decision to join.

The ministers reiterated their support for the peace initiative led by President Trump and reaffirmed their commitment to implementing the mandate of the Board of Peace as a transitional administration, as outlined in the Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict and endorsed by UN Security Council Resolution 2803.

The initiative aims to consolidate a permanent ceasefire, support the reconstruction of Gaza and advance a just and lasting peace based on the Palestinian right to self-determination and statehood under international law, the statement said, adding that the effort seeks to ensure long-term security and stability across the region.

The Board of Peace was announced as part of the second phase of a fragile ceasefire agreement with Hamas to end the Israel-Gaza conflict, according to reports. The Trump administration has sent invitations to several world leaders to join the body, which is expected to oversee governance support, regional engagement, reconstruction, investment mobilisation and large-scale funding in Gaza.
